my egg-cellent whisk list…

 

One of the things I love most about this time of year is the food. Our weekly vegetable box delivery has been overflowing with delicious spring vegetables, including asparagus. It makes the most wonderful quick supper – served with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce (which is also very quick and easy to make and *so* much better than the stuff you can buy). Weirdly enough, our whisk had broken and then M gave himself a blister using the old metal one. So when George at Asda invited me to take a look at their homewares and kitchen range, the timing couldn’t have been better. I am rather taken with the lime whisk (3), and it is a bargain at £3.Whilst I was looking at the whisks, I also saved some images of some of the other things that caught my eye – this selection can be bought for the affordable price of £36.

Although M does all the cooking, I do all the baking. I have been on the look out for a baking sheet (4) and this one looks like it would be perfect without being too expensive. I know you can get totally cheap ones, but I always find they bend and buckle after a couple of users, so it’s actually more cost effective to spend a little more. I also love the look of this set of plastic bowls (2) and I am sure Pip would enjoy helping me make some cakes using them – she is particularly into specifying which coloured items are hers. We are undecided about a bread bin – I think it would help to have somewhere to keep it rather than it just being stuffed in a cupboard – and this one (5) would brighten up the place for sure.  I was also rather drawn to the colour of these tea towels (1), which would go nicely with the bread bin.
