*a portrait of my child, once a week, every week in 2013*

I love snow. I love the way when you wake up in the morning and it’s been snowing, the very light and sound of the day is different. Special. More muffled. Dream like. This morning, we got up and headed out for a walk. Snow was falling and despite the heavy footfall on the path through the woods, the snow was still pristine. Crunchy. Like a cross country ski track. Crunchy and flat. We stopped for a coffee in the cafe in the woods, sitting outside in our down jackets and ski wear, wellies on feet and coffee in hand. It felt like we were skiing. (minus the sunshine). This is where I took this photo, of Pip having her post nap milk, sat in her pram, wearing her bear suit and the hat that Marto once brought back for me from a skiing trip, not realising it was for a baby. I’m not sure why I kept it all these years, but I’m glad I did.
