where, oh where, has this term gone? half term already. what with the blog’s server being hacked and having to go offline for a bit, and in the re-hosting, i have attempted a bit of a revamped look. Now I’m resolving to try and bring a bit of order to posting.
If I manage to post every day, which I doubt I will, this will be the order to the week:
Mondays: general posts about motherhood including “what to wear”
Tuesdays: written word {books for parents; books for Pip} &/or issues around working
Wednesdays: weaning and food
Thursdays: swimming and other activities
Fridays: product reviews {some of which may be sponsored}
Weekends: life recently
We will see how far this takes me. I’m hoping it might bring a structure to the myriad of half formed posts that swim around my brain, never making it either out of my brain or beyond my drafts folder. I’m thinking more posts, even if shorter, might get my old brain back in gear. I certainly miss reading people’s thoughts and find it sad my google reader is now basically full of photos, paid posts and a lack of honesty. Not that this page will be entirely free of paid posts (someone has to pay for Pip’s things) but it will be full of honesty.
Speaking of which, a rant about dear old mothercare and it’s gendered toys and also one about health visitors might be in order. Those who follow me on twitter might well have seen me tweeting yesterday about a trip with my mother in law, where we asked an assistant for a ball, only for her to enquire as to whether it was for a boy or a girl. And don’t even get me started on the double products, where one set was an ordinary, arbitrary colour (say, red, yellow, blue and green, in the case of a set of dust pans, mops, brushes etc) and the other, identical set, was pink. I’ve nothing against pink as a colour, in fact, when I get my own front door I am painting it pink, but I have got a lot against things being offered as a pink option when the multi coloured arbitrary option is perfectly sufficient. (I’ll save the health visitor one for another post.)
