my son is 2 years 4 months, he has no interest in his potty at all, is it ok to leave potty training until he shows interest or do i need to do more?

is there a “best” age to start introducing the potty?
should there be any distractions when potty training? My boy is partial to sitting on his like an arm chair and quite happy to read or watch TV. also, should it be in one place like the bathroom and you always go there rather then having the potty on hand for wherever ?
I started potty training my 2.5 year old son 2 weeks ago, he is fine with pee but doesn’t seem to be able to poop in the potty … pretty fed up with him doing it in his pants now. Any suggestions as to how to encourage him to do a number two on the potty? Thanks

We’ve got our 2 year old son (3 in March) completely dry in the day & wearing pants, and he’s dry 80% of nights but still wears nappies. It’s the pooing that’s still an issue. He does poo on the potty when the mood takes him & knows when he needs to go as he assumes “the leaning position” when he does! How long does it usually take for boys to poo on the potty?
