{first of all, hello to any new readers – and thanks to Zehra for the mention – it’s always lovely to hear from readers, especially ones who’ve found my ramblings useful}
how has another week passed already? every week i am full of good intentions. of to-do lists and planning and posting every day. i have a notebook with ideas in; and yet here we are again and it’s sunday and 11pm and i still haven’t even switched on my computer, let alone written anything.
my drafts folder is full of half started posts. in the shower, sentences form and swirl around; their beauty forgotten the moment i stop the water and being a parent kicks in again.
the week has disappeared in a muddle of eating, teething, train trips, house work and swimming lessons. how i used to fit in a full time job i can’t remember. oh yes; no baby. this week a stark reminder of how there really isn’t time to have it all. i may not have blogged but i have had sex. three times. and watched strictly. twice. oh, and been to my own ballet classes. a real life or a virtual life. hhmm. what a choice.
actually, what i want is more balance. aiming to blog everyday really isn’t working. more to the point, i’m not sure i even finished or published the post with that proposal. the thought was, if i can’t even find time to blog every day, how am i going to fit in working. the jury’s still out…
anyway, back to the baby. hardly recognisable as a baby anymore, that’s what. pretty much sitting up; eating lunch and supper; able to sign the sign for milk. 24 weeks tomorrow.
(we bought t-shirts and vests for Pip in BabyGap this past weekend. having found some lovely pumpkin/grey/teal and navy sets of suits for my nephew, i asked the shop assistant if she had any in a 6-12 months for my baby. “boy or girl” she asked, as i unfolded the vests to check the size. “girl”, i responded. “perhaps you should look at the girls selection then” she stated, authoritatively. you won’t be surprised which ones i ended up buying – and the look on her face when i told her what i thought of the girls colour selection)

I can empathise with so much of this! I get most of my ideas in the middle of the night during feeds, but then I’m usually too tired to actually write them up. If you find a good solution, please let me know! More balance would be lovely…and what a bizarre shop assistant. Like you I always look at both boys and girls clothes and I’m sure lots of mums do. Especially when all the girls clothes are that awful sickly / fairy pink.

I am trying a notebook. although most of the time, I don’t even get the thought into the notebook!
hello sex 3 times a week? What are you superwoman?! I am a little jealous of your varied busy life. Most days we struggle to get out the house 😉

how about that coffee? x
Sex 3x weekly is *impressive*. Go, you.
And what is it about words coming in the shower? Maybe some kind of waterproof tablet for keeping in there might be a good idea…
