Did I mention we moved house? Life has been even more busy of late as we have been moving and finishing off all the work required to hand back the old flat. More relevantly, broadband is still not connected in the new place, despite my best efforts, so blogging has been a little, shall we say, sporadic. If I was a more organised person, I would have compiled a backlog of posts so you wouldn’t have even noticed the gap, but I tend to do things on a more ad-hoc basis at the moment.
Anyway, the new flat has sunshine inside and a kitchen I actually want to cook in, both of which are excellent improvements on the last place so far as I am concerned.
Additionally, I went to Ikea and bought some things to make Pip’s kitchen. Whilst finishing the work on the previous flat I learnt new skills such as helping with plastering and painting walls so I am super excited to get to work on Pip’s kitchen. I just have to figure out whether I need to use a drill to make a hole to attach a ‘towel rail’ (aka a cabinet handle) or whether I just screw it in, and whether I do this pre or post painting the cabinet. Any suggestions?
Lastly, I am organising a baby shower this weekend for my sister and we are in the process of sorting out the games. Any suggestions from showers you’ve been to? Photos to follow, in due course!
I love baby showers. For ours, we got some second hand blank bodysuits and had people paint them with fabric paints. We also had a pot for people to bet on when the baby would be born….I did end up regretting it slightly as we went 13 days over but it was fun and 60% of the money went to charity and 40% to the winner.
I want to get pregnant again so I can have a baby shower!!! Glad that you’re enjoying your new flat!

I had a baby shower but it was a surprise, and I’m really not very good with surprises (especially when hormonal) so I spent most of it trying not to cry. That wasn’t a good game. Baby photo guessing games are always fun! x

Can’t wait to see the kitchen – I’m no DIY expert, but I always paint after everything else is finished. Drilling on fresh paintwork makes me nervous!
