Today is Marto and my twelfth anniversary of meeting. A dozen years since we both accidentally ended up in the same student nightclub that I usually wouldn’t dream of setting foot in (it played cheesy music, and I was far more into rock, metal and punk). I kept it real by wearing flared jeans and a Rancid hoody. Anyway, I digress.
Since this is a special day however, I thought it would be a good time to run this lovely giveaway. Monkey & Mole make the most lovely buttery soft moccasins and one lucky person gets to choose both size and colour of their very own pair.
As you can see from the photos above, Pip has been loving wearing her sea green pair that Chrissy very kindly sent her. They arrived beautifully packaged, in a shoe box, which I adored, with a card with a photo of the mocs on (which Pip loved, carrying it around for ages, saying “shoes” and pointing at it and then down at her feet). She has been wearing the moccasins lots, despite the fact that I overestimated her foot size and I am now ordering some more, slightly smaller ones (in the coral).
Chrissy set up Monkey & Mole, earlier this year. She is mum to daughter Esme and says:
“I wanted colourful, soft soled and stylish shoes for Esme when she first started to show signs of walking. I loved some American brands of moccasins but when I looked high and low for British makers and couldn’t find any, I decided to set up my own business.
That was over a year ago now. I worked on a design and here we are today. I love making these little shoes, my office is a corner of our small terraced house bedroom and my sewing room in our kitchen table but I love it…”

These shoes are gorgeous- so great to be introduced to a British children’s brand. Sunglow yellow would definitely help cheer up the grey February days and sea green would encourage dreams of my ‘Little A’s’ first trip to the beach. I’d love either! Fingers crossed.
